"If you're tired of hearing kids complain about being bored, you're going to love this deck! 154 ideas for independent play without screens to help growing brains get the stimulation they need."
How to use
- At Home
- In the Classroom
- In Therapy
Hand a child the WonderDeck when they say they're bored. Draw a card, follow the prompt, and let curiosity take over. Activities span science experiments, creative challenges, movement games, and more.
Most activities require common household materials or none at all. No screens, no setup, no grown-up help needed.
Use WonderDeck as an early finisher activity, a free choice center, or an enrichment station. Students draw a card and work independently, freeing you to focus on other learners.
Activities are open-ended enough to work for a wide range of ability levels.
Use WonderDeck to engage children who resist traditional talk-based therapy. The activity cards give reluctant clients something to focus on while rapport builds naturally.
With activities spanning creativity, movement, sensory exploration, and connection, you can match a card to the goal of the session, from calming down to opening up.
FAQ
What kinds of activities are in the deck?
WonderDeck includes 154 activities across 7 categories: Create, Explore, Connect, Play, Move, Learn, and Care. That spans everything from art and writing to movement, games, science, sensory exploration, and acts of kindness. The activities are designed to be genuinely engaging rather than worksheet-style busywork.
What ages is this for?
WonderDeck is designed for ages 8 and up. Younger kids in the 6 to 7 range can enjoy many activities with light adult guidance. Younger teens will also find many of the activities engaging.
Does it require any materials or setup?
Most activities require no materials at all or use common household items. There is no setup required beyond drawing a card. If a specific activity needs something, it is noted on the card so kids know before they start.
Can it be used in a classroom setting?
Yes. WonderDeck works well as an independent enrichment activity, early finisher station, or free choice center. Teachers can pull specific cards for targeted activities or let students draw freely. The self-directed format means minimal teacher involvement once students understand how it works.
Is this purely independent play, or can it be done with others?
WonderDeck is designed for solo play, but many activities can easily be done with a friend or sibling. The deck works just as well as a shared activity between two kids as it does for independent exploration.

Cards with great family friendly activities, probably most fun for 6-10 year olds if our kids attention span is any indication.
This is not only fun ideas for older kids to sift through when they are bored, but it is also useful for me as a mom of little kids. A lot of the ideas are good for various age groups and my 3 and 5 year olds can do them, too (with help). I like how it has such a wide variety of ideas. Most of them are things that I have done or have seen done before; they are not crazy off-the-wall ideas. It is helpful to have a deck of mostly easy and realistic ideas at my fingertips.
This is a great tool for ideas when looking for activities to keep kids stimulated, curious and engaged. 7 fun categories. Would also do great for school or home school application.
I was a little discouraged by the ideas on some of these cards, especially the “care” category…obviously a lot of these ideas are for people from an affluent area that have money to care for others in the way suggested, it would’ve been nice to include things that everyone could do regardless of financial ability. I got this set in hopes of coming up with new ideas to utilize with homeschooling along with using ideas in the kid’s bored jar. A lot of the categories do have some good ideas that can be done by anybody with things everyone has around their house or just in nature, like looking at clouds…but there are quite a bit that require different items like using a roll of tape to make a racetrack or going on screens to find different information like world records to beat. If the point is to have “screen free fun” then why are we including tasks that involve using screens for information?? The cards are decorated cute and are thick so won’t be crunched up too easily, the box they come in for storage is nice as well and sturdy but it would’ve been better if all the cards had their own little slot instead of stacking different categories together. There are many activities that children 4+ could do so I wouldn’t go with the 8+ on the box. Overall though, this could’ve and should’ve been so much better and I think it’s overpriced at the current listed price of $19.99.
I love this pack of cards because it provides an easy way to gamify simple activities in a way that is neither confrontational nor judgmental. This set explores a series of small tasks as an entry point to larger conversations and activities.
You can take each card at face value and complete the task, or you can deviate slightly for a similar effect. Often, after completing a task, a series of naturally occurring questions arise, leading to deeper conversations with your kids.
The cards are very easy to understand and digest, meaning there’s a low barrier for entry. This makes it simple to pick up a card and do something fun without a lot of planning or preparation.
They’re perfect for camping trips or as a daily reward/activity, helping to create meaningful quality time rather than zoning out in front of a screen. They also stimulate the brain in different ways, lighting up the dopamine centers without relying on digital entertainment.
Overall, I’m incredibly pleased with this kit!
I love these cards! There are several different categories of things kids can do on their own or with friends, including things that help them get some movement or learn something new. There are a ton of fun ideas, you won't run out any time soon. Perfect for a homeschool or anyone who wants their kids to engage actively in something creative. You can do them as a family as well!
My kids love this card set. So many fun ideas for when they start complaining, “I’m bored… there’s nothing to dooooo”. Well now we have these! It’s our go to for boredom fix.

This deck of cards has been a wonderful tool for coming up with fun and engaging activities to enjoy with my kids. It’s a great way to step away from screens and spend meaningful time together.
Some cards require materials we didn’t have on hand, but we’ve simply added those items to a shopping list and picked other cards in the meantime. The variety of activities is excellent, and the categories make it easy to choose based on mood or weather. For example, we’ve saved many of the outdoor activities for when it’s warmer, so we haven't been picking from that category at the moment.
The kids love randomly picking a card, and it’s turned into a fun ritual we all look forward to. Highly recommend for families looking to spark creativity and connection!
Unique and fun for kids! My daughter enjoyed this deck comes with a good variety of decks with different activities to keep kids busy. Some she can do her on own and others she can do with me or her brothers. Love the vibrant colours, it’s easy to read and do!
This is a creative way to get kids to try things they wouldn't have thought of before. There are cards here that encourage helping the household, allows kids to be creative with unique arts and crafts, or even promotes focus to use all your senses. It's something that can be left out and when a kid tells you they are bored, you send them to pull a card. It's not a board game really, and it doesn't really involve multiple people either. It's an interesting way to get kids moving, thinking, and acting differently than what they are used to.
These are so handy to have around with kids. One of the things I like about them is the ability to say "I didn't come up with that idea, it's the card." I can come up with some of these ideas, but my kids are like "no, I don't wanna" but when the card says it, there is much less arguing. The game itself is rather compact so it's easy to take with you and the cards are very well made
I recently started using the ThinkPsych WonderDeck with my child, and I’ve been genuinely impressed with how engaging and useful it is. As a parent who’s always on the lookout for tools to help build emotional intelligence and communication skills, this deck has been a great find.
What stood out to me right away was how easy the cards are to use. Each one has a simple, thoughtful prompt or activity that naturally sparks conversation. Some are silly and playful, while others are more reflective—but all of them are developmentally appropriate and clearly grounded in real psychology. You can tell they were created by professionals who understand how kids think and learn.
If I had one wish, it would be for even more cards or maybe an expansion pack, just to keep the novelty going over time. But honestly, we’ve gotten so much out of this one deck already.
Overall, I highly recommend the WonderDeck. It’s been such a valuable (and fun!) way to connect with my child and support their social-emotional growth in a meaningful way.
The WonderDeck has been a surprise hit. Each card is its own little adventure, and my kid treats them like daily mini-missions. Some are creative, some are silly, and a few even sneak in a bit of science or reading practice without making it feel like schoolwork. I especially love that it encourages independent play.
This is a fantastic game ! So many thought provoking questions to engage imagination & critical thinking , fun activities to give all that kid energy something to do . High quality & well made . All my little ones from 4 to 9 have so much fun with this . Definitely a winner !
As my kids get older and older, they are getting lazier and lazier in terms of self entertainment. It's always I'm bored, I'm bored, there's nothing to do...well fear no more! Wonder Deck is here and there are a plethora of variety of things for them to do and figure out at the pick of a card! While having something like this isn't the end all be all, there are a lot of tasks that will require supplies and some that require adult supervision, it is still a great help in the midst of a busy day or week!
I look forward to the kids using this during Summer especially!
Overall a nice idea kit for kids who are stuck home and with parents too busy to do anything about it! Worth considering!

With 154 different adventures, it never gets boring, and the single-player format makes it perfect for independent play. It’s a great fit for homeschoolers, giving kids a chance to practice storytelling, problem-solving, and social-emotional skills in a low-pressure way.
I love how open-ended the prompts are—they spark curiosity and get kids thinking outside the box. It’s one of those games that doesn’t feel like learning, but you can definitely see the benefits in how kids express themselves and work through challenges. Whether used for quiet time, as a fun warm-up for lessons, or just as a boredom buster, this deck is a winner. Definitely a fantastic gift for any curious kid!
I think our family will get good use out of this, especially once our oldest is reading more independently. We’ve done some cards and they have been entertaining and there seems to be a good variety of ideas. I think we’ll get the most use in the warmer months when we can do some of the outdoor activities.
These cards are great quality and such a wonderful idea. Every Sunday we take one card from the deck and as a family we do the task on the card. Sometimes the card, gives an activity to do and other times it's just a question that really makes us all think. These cards are perfect for teaching kids problem solving, critical thinking, empathy, kindness and so much more. It also keeps my son off technology.
The fun thing is we're all learning and bonding while using these cards. And hopefully creating memorable moments that will stick with my children for years to come.
My 4 yr old and 9 yr old love doing this activity together as a family and sometimes we do more that one card a week because they're having so much fun.
I think this deck of thought provoking cards would also be an asset to schools and daycares.
