FAQ
What's included?
The Social Skills Essentials Collection includes four products: Chat Chains, the Chat Chains Expansion Pack, Dive In, and a 12-Pack Bilingual SEL Posters set.
What ages is this for?
The Social Skills Essentials Collection is designed for ages 8 and up. Chat Chains, the Expansion Pack, and Dive In all work well from age 8 through adulthood. The SEL posters are geared towards elementary and middle school age students.
Where should I start with the collection?
Start with Dive In, the simplest of the three games, to get players talking right away. Bring in Chat Chains for more structured turn-taking and conversation skill practice, and add the Expansion Pack any time you want more topics. Hang the posters from day one so the vocabulary stays visible.
How do the three conversation games complement each other?
Dive In is the simplest of the three: players roll dice to build conversation topics, which keeps things light and easy to jump into. Chat Chains goes deeper, using a visible conversation chain to teach structured back-and-forth like asking follow-up questions and active listening. The Expansion Pack adds more topics and a sidebar listening mechanic. Together they give players an easy entry point plus room to build richer conversation skills.
Can this be used for children with autism or social anxiety?
Yes. Chat Chains and Dive In were both designed with neurodivergent children and socially anxious kids in mind. The structured formats reduce the open-ended ambiguity that is most challenging for these populations and provide a predictable, low-pressure context for practicing social skills.

This is amazing! A full set of beautiful posters for the classroom with a variety of mental health and positive thinking messages on them. They are fully laminated and arrive, rolled up and ready to use. This means there is no chance that they will be torn, crumpled, or simply folded. I don't usually mention shipping, but I am going to mention this because the way they are shipped out from the manufacturer is just pure perfection.
Each of the posters are bright and built to last. The colours on each of the posters are vibrant and each of the posters feature ink with words that are clearly legible. I love these positive messages. There are posters in both English and Spanish. I have hung them across my room and the students love reading the positive messages on them.
Absolutely love these! As a parents I’m always wondering how to teach these things to my children, and now that they’re in school I’ve seen the school counsellor use similar types of resources with my child. I love that they are engaging, brightly coloured (but not overstimulating), the words are clear and simple, the illustrations are cute and draw kids in.
My 6yo will sit there for long periods of time and just look at the pictures and read everything, she was so excited when I opened up the package and showed her the posters. I plan to introduce and implement them one week at a time so it’s not overwhelming. I will be teaching again next year and might bring these posters in as well!
They do come rolled tightly in a canister, however it was easy of me to re-roll them the opposite way and they were flat again within 1-2 days!
I LOVE this. 12 High quality prints and it’s double sided (Spanish & English). We will only be using the English side but it’s perfect for our playroom or calm down corner. Now, we just need to put it in practice.
Only downside is it comes rolled up in a tube so to unroll it is not easy. Otherwise, totally recommended.
What I like about this product is that it’s easy to understand, and very helpful for kids not just at home but also in school. I like that it has both English and French language. The pictures are very cool and have a cool design. Overall, it’s pretty good product.
These posters are a true gem. The image quality is perfect and they very well designed. They are thin, like picture paper but would would be great to staple on a bulletin board or tape on doors even. My kids loved reading them and they are already looking for places to put up their favorites.
I bought this product about 1.5 months ago, and with regular use, it's been a tremendous help! We keep it on our fridge and started by identifying emotions based on scenarios (storytelling). We then progressed to using it to identify our emotions directly on the fridge, focusing mostly on obvious ones like upset, sad, excited, and jealous.
Whenever a negative emotion came up, we would flip the page to identify a coping skill. I let my child choose, and simply thinking about what he wanted to do from the chart was enough to stop the usually prolonged continued scream crying.
Since starting consistent use, after 3 weeks we've experienced no tantrums or inconsolable crying at all (hope I don't jinx it!). Even when we're out and about, if something happens, he remembers the chart and thinks about what he wants to do.
Honestly, it's helped us as parents too!
These are bilingual emotional regulating charts for children who experience big emotions and have a hard time expressing how they feel. It’s a great tool to add early on during their lives and it’s perfect for my non verbal child. It’s been a big help and I highly recommend it for all parents. Very giftable.
These posters are great to learn either of the languages. I was looking for them for my school projects, this caught my attention. When I read through the details, this was founded by phycologist, it added more value and got confident on the way it's described. Teaching Kids effectively is more important and this added lots of help make them read as it came with nice colors and arts. The colors are picked well and it makes kids to take a look and see the respective pictures. One of the key main features is Waterproof and Tear resistant, handling with kids these 2 are very essentials, the posters are strong and laminated well. Well highly recommend it.
I got this set of 12 posters for use with a group of youth that are in a program that I am familiar with. They are clear in their messaging and use pictures of diverse children on them. The lamination makes them easy to hang and also to keep clean. I was looking specifically for something dealing with managing emotions and healthy communication and this set covers all of that. I especially like that they also come in Spanish on the opposite side. The fact that they all came in one set is an added bonus because they are often only available individually. I can't wait for us to begin using these.
This game has been a great addition to my elementary Special Education Resource Room! I teach at a Title 1 school, and we love the thought-provoking questions that get them talking and learning about different perspectives and experiences. I have several students on the Autism spectrum, and they love the “team” game mode where it doesn’t feel as pressuring 😊
The superlative suggestions are also great and my students have had so much fun recognizing each other for their conversation skills. All of my students love this game and have been asking to play again and again! It is packaged well (nice and compact), easy to understand, and requires very little set up which makes for a great early finish activity. 😊
I really like this game! The Dive In deck has some great questions. The questions really allow you to go deep. These questions are perfect for a couple who's trying to get to know one another, or for anyone who might want to delve deeper. The dice are good ice breakers. This game is fairly easy to catch on to. My children and I enjoy it.
This is a fantastic "not really a game" type of game. It's more of a icebreaker or a tool for starting conversations.
My wife and I played with it together and had fun. I didn't realize I didn't know her favorite book. Pretty cool.
The box includes eight golf-ball sized wooden dice: a white starter dice, two yellow adjective dice, and five subject dice. All are six sided. You roll the white one first. If it lands on Dice in, you draw a card and discuss one of the two questions - these can be pretty deep, hence the name. Otherwise, the white dice will give you a question and a color. You roll the yellow dice and one matching the colored dot on the white one.
The two topics on each card are divided into level 1, for all ages, and level 2, for 12+. Topics are things like "what is your perfect day," and "If you could change one thing about the world, what would you change."
This would be an excellent game to play with two couples or a group of friends looking to get to know each other better. The questions arrived at on the dice won't make anyone uncomfortable, and don't include anything controversial. Favorite actor, that sort of thing.
Overall, I highly recommend this is a fun conversation starter. This isn't likely to inspire any life-changing discussion, but it's well-made, and sure to get people talking which is a huge win.
The dice are significantly larger than I expected which makes them easier to keep track of. Everything fits perfectly within the box. We plan to put post it notes or a non harming tape over the dice to expand to different categories. Good ice breaker and conversation starter, would make a fun gift. After playing the game a few more times we noticed that the words painted on the dice are starting to come off. See photo. I think there could be improvement on the word paint so the game will last longer.
If you work with youth groups or really any group of people that you are hoping to get folks to start interacting (or break the ice) this is a super fun way to do so. The dice makes if feel like you all are at the mercy of the roll which provides grace as you answer the questions. Easy going questions that aren't too narrow so anyone of any age can answer without feeling embarrassed or put on the spot. Highly recommend this game. Would love larger sets with multiple dice for when we have large groups at events.
With three teenage daughters, and a 10-year-old daughter, we are in the thick of parenting challenging children. I love these games that promote discussion amongst family members, it’s a great way to bond and get to know your kids. I had thought this was a deck of questions, but in fact, it is a dice game. You roll the white dye first, and then follow the directions on the dice With the red and yellow dice. The product of this dice roll gives you a question that everybody in the group answers collectively. There are no winners and no competition really, it’s just a creative format to stimulate probing questions.
We got this game to play with our church friends when they come over and it's been fun!
This game is a great way to get to know people that you don't know all that well, but it's also great for learning new things about family or friends you've known for years!
The instructions are easy to follow, the dice are sturdy, and the cards are good quality. I love that this game helps you get to know others in a fun and easy way and can be played for any amount of time. We'll definitely be playing this game more often whenever we want to have some conversational fun!
