Social stories are short stories that can help explain life and social skills to individuals with autism. This study demonstrates that a social story can help children with and without autism to learn the skill of toothbrushing and improve dental hygiene.
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is an evidence-based treatment for individuals with Autism. This study demonstrate that students who receive comprehensive ABA services that incorporate “post-Skinner” ideas of language development experience greater increases in IQ than those who receive more traditional ABA.
Stability ball seating has been shown to be an effective intervention for increasing focus in students with ADHD. This study expands these findings and demonstrates that stability ball seating can increase on-task and in-seat behavior for students with Autism. Implications and limitations are discussed.
